Losing weight, in my opinion, is the same as any other health challenge you want to tackle—it takes a shift in your day-to-day mental and physical habits over a long enough period of time (until they become second-nature) to be successful.
I want to share with you the stories of four of my patients that are proof of exactly that and who show that it’s not impossible to lose weight, no matter how hard it’s been for you so far. I hope that after reading their highly personal stories you will forget all the quick-fix approaches out there, and take a bigger picture look at weight loss as just one part of your journey to a long, healthy, and happy life.

“First of all, without a caring doctor as I have in Dr. Madsen I still would have been in the lonely world of morbid obesity. Even though I have lost 150lbs over the past 10 months, there’s still a lot of work ahead of me. I have learned how to take control of my life again. I have learned not to let food be my driving force and best friend but to use food as a fuel for enjoying life, family, and friends. ”I have lost a total of 73lbs through the Optavia program. My starting weight was 235lbs and my ending weight was 162lbs. I lost a total of 59.5”, going from a size 18/20 to a 6/8; 2XL shirt to a S/M. The three main health changes I achieved were:
